Not Fine

by Ross Hollow

Our new album Not Fine is out everywhere. Not Fine is a nod to our 2020 release, Fine. Not Fine was written in 2020 and 2021 with the exception of "In The Quiet" (the last track). The album examines various perspectives on not being fine. It dives into topics like growing older, being overworked, problematic relationships, isolation, being overwhelmed, and losing friends. But more so, just

because you are not fine, doesn't mean you are alone. So many of us have gone through phases in our lives where we are not fine, but there is comfort in knowing we can't be fine all the time. In the past few years each band member has had ups and downs, but we have come together to make music. We like to write songs and make music in community, and that helps us through times of

not being fine. Stylistically our sound has evolved to include more jazzy and pop elements while still holding on to our Folk, Rock, Blue and Americana sound. Front person Stuart Ross likes to write albums similar to Jack White and Brandi Carlile in the sense that there are high energy songs and softer acoustic songs.

Fine

by Ross Hollow

Fine is Ross Hollow’s second full length album. It was inspired by the idea that everyone likes to say that they are “fine,” when in reality they may feel like their life is bursting at the seams. It is easier to just say “I’m fine,” and move on. In a world where social media allows us to filter our pictures and edit our lives, we are all longing for authenticity. Ross Hollow’s release is an attempt to make sense of everything. Songs such as Fine, Nora, Old Pine, and Coast of Maine deal with mental illness, loss, murder, and the complexities of love. Borrowed Time and Summer Rain evoke nostalgic vibes. We round out the album with some straight vintage jams, like Moonstruck, Surfin’ in the 219, and It’s Gonna Lighting.

Horizon

by Ross Hollow

Horizon is Ross Hollow’s first album and is a collection of songs written from 2018-2019. The album title comes from the song Sea Foam Green’s lyric, “I’ll seek horizon and release.” Stuart, Ross Hollow’s primary songwriter, had big plans for the group and new they’d be releasing more music together. This album has a folk rock vibe akin to Neil Young, Bill Withers and the Allman Brothers.
