Tapping into the deep roots of American folk music, blues, and rock, Ross Hollow has grown into something all their own. Riding on the modern indie folk, rockabilly and southern soul revival of the past 10 years, Ross Hollow has incorporated a lot of horns, groovy guitar and bass lines. Ross Hollow has catchy melodies that have you singing them soon after you’ve heard them. Often fans will say, “I can’t get that song out of my head.” Fans have described Ross Hollow’s sound as classic, energizing, eclectic, and thought-provoking. Some artists like to produce a vibe, have good lyrics, or focus on the instrumentation, but Ross Hollow does all 3. They have produced and released over 30 songs in 3 years. From rocking songs like Delilah, Fine, and Old Pine, to dramatic folk ballads like Nora, to melancholy indie folk like My Morning, Isolation, and Summer Rain, Ross Hollow creates a diverse and textured listening experience that keeps you engaged.
Ross Hollow started off grinding it out in small Indianapolis bars and coffee shops in 2017, playing to whoever would listen. They quickly gathered a local following while writing their first EP, which they produced themselves and released that year. Wanting to gain more traction, Ross Hollow added members and went to a professional studio to record and produce Horizon, their first full length album released in 2019. After an impressive year of 2 national tours and almost 100 live shows, Ross Hollow hit the studio again to record their sophomore album Fine in late 2019 and early 2020. During the pandemic, Ross Hollow decided to release their album Fine outdoors at a local theater, and a dedicated group of fans came out in support. In 2021, Ross Hollow kept moving forward with new music despite an ever changing landscape in the current music industry. They released 5 singles ahead of their 3rd full length album, Not Fine, which came out in late 2021.
After coming off a year of ups and downs in 2021 with releasing music, Ross Hollow hopes to play as many shows as possible and promote Not Fine online and in person. They also plan to release a live album of a concert that was recently made into a full length award winning documentary. In addition to that they will be making acoustic versions of their material.

“A tongue in cheek nod to their previous release, ‘Fine’, Ross Hollow’s follow up album takes a contrasting side to its predecessor. The aptly titled, ‘Not Fine’, examines precisely what it claims to set out to. It’s a fairly introspective record, delving deep into topics that leave us feeling often distraught and increasingly worried about where we are today and the future as well. Growing old, being overworked, isolation, being overwhelmed, and problematic relationships all find space to be discussed on this finely composed folk rock piece. More than anything, the band offers its listeners solace in this seemingly universal feeling of discontent.” -Kartik Sundar
